JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police said a man was arrested for stealing a vehicle from the City of Jackson impound lot.
Police received information on June 15 that a black Toyota Tacoma with Texas license plates had been stolen from the lot by Gary Burnside, 39.

While canvassing the area of McCluer Road near Terry Road, Captain W. Kendrick said he located the vehicle. He said the vehicle was being driven by Burnside, and two other occupants were inside the vehicle. Kendrick said the driver managed to get away.
The vehicle was later located at a home in the 4000 block of Rainey Road. Police said Burnside attempted to get away from the officers by running into the home and hiding in the attic. They said he then attempted to escape by breaking through the ceiling in the storage room but was unsuccessful.
Burnside was arrested without further incident. He was charged with possession of a stolen auto and possession of methamphetamine. His bond was set at $70,000…
