Jackson’s elected leaders are getting a raise… in 2029

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A pay raise is in the works for the Jackson mayor and city council, but it won’t take effect until 2029.

On Tuesday, the council approved pay raises for the city’s elected leaders – the first increase in roughly two decades.

However, because of the timing of the vote, the increases won’t go into effect until 2029, once the next four-year term ends…
