Medgar Evers Library hosts Juneteenth event

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson library brought history to life for families celebrating Juneteenth.

Attendees were able to enjoy inflatables, food trucks and lessons at the Medgar Evers Library. Juneteenth is a federal holiday that recognizes the freedom of formerly enslaved Black people.

“You have to know where you came from to understand where you’re going.
