Jackson District Congress of Christian Education graduates 22 candidates

JANS – It’s historical! The Jackson District Congress of Christian Education held its inaugural graduation on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the New McRaven Hill Baptist Church in Jackson, MS. Rev. Cedric Crump, host Pastor. Past Christian Education graduations were held by the Greater Jackson Certificate of Progress Program (COPP) organized by the late Dr. William A. and Dr. Hymethia W. Lofton Thompson. He was the Pastor of New Jerusalem MBC, Whitfield Street.

Since its inception, the Congress of Christian Education has its roots and cornerstone within the Sunday School Publishing Board. This first and historical graduation is a ministry under the leadership of the Jackson District Association where Dr. Willie B. Tobias Jr. is the Moderator and Pastor of New Mt. Zion (Maple Street); Rev. Eric Williams is President and Pastor at Farish Street Church; Dr. Hymethia W. Lofton Thompson (New Mt. Zion) is Dean; and Sis. Vera Watson, Assistant Dean (New McRaven Hill Church).
