First Alert Forecast: Isolated showers possible, then things heat up

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Thursday: Dry weather continues for the Thursday morning commute, however a few isolated showers may be possible for areas north of I-20 by mid-morning. Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80s and low 90s. Some of these may pack a little bit of a punch with gusty winds and small hail. Most of us will stay dry through the lunch hour but scattered showers will lift further north from the gulf by the evening commute, especially for areas south of I-20. Storms taper off overnight as temperatures remain in the low to mid 70s.

Friday: Fewer showers will be around as we wrap up this week, but humidity will continue to rise adding to the heat stress conditions. Highs Friday afternoon will be in the low 90s with heat indices in the upper 90s and triple digits. A pop-up shower or two can’t be ruled out but will be less widespread compared to days prior. The humidity sticks around in the evening as temperatures only fall to the mid 70s overnight…
