Guthrie named Pearl Police Officer of the Month

The Pearl Police Department (PPD) Officer of the Month for May is Officer Andrew Guthrie. He joined the ranks at PPD in July, 2024, assigned to the Patrol Division, where, according to PPD, he quickly demonstrated professionalism and selfless service. While in Patrol, his proactive approach to constitutionally-based policing led to the seizure of several illicit narcotics and the apprehension of numerous offenders, according to Police Chief Nick McLendon.

Due to his commitment to public safety, Guthrie was selected as a FLEX officer within the Special Operations Division, a team comprised of proactive officers specializing in the detection and deterrence of vice crimes.
