Jackson, Mississippi – Mississippi residents are facing a double weather threat through Thursday as dangerous heat continues and isolated severe storms target the southeast region, including Hattiesburg and Laurel.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, heat indices are expected to reach 105°F to 110°F across the state through Wednesday, with high temperatures in the low to mid-90s. A Level 2 “Elevated” heat risk is in effect, meaning heat exhaustion is likely with prolonged outdoor exposure.
