Raymond mother killed on I-220 when she was struck by a car, officials confirm

The death of a young mother on I-220 in Jackson was caused when she was on foot, hit by a vehicle Monday morning, according to Jackson Police Department.

Detective Tommie Brown confirmed that Mikayla Smith, 29, of Raymond, was killed when she was hit by a car near the Watkins Drive exit when she had pulled over gotten out of her vehicle because she thought she had a blowout.
