Thalia Mara Hall to reopen in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba and city officials announced Thalia Mara Hall will reopen.

Earlier this month, the State Fire Marshal’s Office announced that Thalia Mara Hall met the standards to reopen. According to State Fire Marshal and Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney (R-Miss.), a follow-up inspection was conducted on June 3.

“A Certificate of Occupancy will be issued to the City of Jackson (COJ). A hydrostatic test was conducted on Monday, June 2, 2025, to determine the integrity of pipes and valves in the building.
