Jackson Mayor Horhn vows to tackle city’s blight problem

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson Mayor John Horhn and his team gathered on July 3 for a meet and greet at the Two Mississippi Museums.

Horhn, who has been on the job for two days, said he doesn’t plan to waste any time. He told attendees that he would push for Community Development Block Grant funding for blight elimination across the city.

“We have got to clean our city up. Jackson in some parts of it is an embarrassment. I’m going to be honest, because of the way it looks. It says a lot about you and your community when you see trash everywhere, you see burnt out houses, you see dilapidation,” the mayor said…
