Two Mississippi Museums honor Medgar Evers on his 100th birthday

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Two Mississippi Museums honored civil rights activist Medgar Evers on what would have been his 100th birthday.

The museums, located in in Jackson, allowed people in the community to come and enjoy the exhibits for free.

“For too many people, all they know is the fact that he was assassinated. And today is an opportunity to not only reflect on the work that led to his untimely death, but also the legacy that still lives on in his name,” said Michael Morris, director of the Two Mississippi Museums.
