JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – This weekend is starting off dry in multiple ways. Not only are we seeing clear skies, but dewpoints are remaining in the upper 60s to low 70s, giving us relatively low humidity for this time of year. That being said, afternoon highs in the mid-90s will still give us heat index values near the triple digits, so it is important to stay hydrated and get lots of shade while spending time outdoors.
Towards the end of the weekend, moisture will begin to return in the area, bringing higher rain chances and humidity. Throughout the next week, we will see scattered showers in the afternoon with high temperatures remaining in the mid-90s.
