Annual Ice Cream Safari helps support Jackson Zoo

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A sweet summer tradition returned to the capital city on Saturday.

The Jackson Zoo hosted the annual Blue Bell Ice Cream Safari. Members of the WJTV 12 News team helped scoop ice cream for the event.

For 31 years, the Ice Cream Safari has been bringing families together for a day of fun at the zoo. The event featured unlimited ice cream samples, a kids zone, music and food trucks, all while supporting the facility.

“I decided to bring my daughter out, and I see that it was a great event. It was a great turnout. I didn’t think it would turn out this way but it did. It’s family friendly, jam packed, and music. I see a lot of the community,” said one attendee…
