Belhaven University launches online master’s in AI

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Belhaven University announced Mississippi’s first-ever fully online program for students to get a Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI).

According to the university, the program is meant to prepare students for in-demand tech careers grounded in ethical leadership on AI. The program is designed for working professionals, containing a flexible 10-course program with seven-week classes that prepare students for high-demand roles in technology, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and more.

Mississippi State launches Master of Science in AI

Students in this program will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, and scikit-learn. A capstone project allows students to apply their skills to a real-world business challenge.

This program was announced just one month after Gov. Tate Reeves (R-Miss.) launched the Mississippi AI Talent Accelerator Program (MAI-TAP), providing $9.1 million in grants to institutions of higher learning. Belhaven was provided with $390,000 from this grant to hire a dedicated AI program chair and to begin to integrate AI content into its online MBA curriculum…
