Questions emerge about latest Pearl River flood control study days after its release

VICKSBURG, Miss. (WLBT) – A revised study of the two remaining options for flood control along the Pearl River continues to spark debate among residents.

Last week, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released its Revised Draft Environmental Impact Statement for flood control along the river.

The Corps looked at three proposals in the study, including a non-structural project that was removed from contention, as well as a scaled-back version of the One Lake Project known as “Alternative D1” that has garnered the support of many community leaders in the capital city…
