Madison water main break leads to boil notice for residents

MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – A boil water notice has been issued for some areas in the City of Madison due to a 12-inch water main break.

According to city leaders, the break happened along Madison Avenue around 9:00 p.m. on July 20. They said the break caused low water pressure until the leak was isolated around 10:30 p.m.

The customers at the following locations have been placed under a boil water notice:

  • Crawford Street
  • McLauren Street
  • Cotton Hill
  • Adderly Gardens
  • Lake Castle
  • Castle Circle
  • N. Castle Drive
  • St. Catherine’s Village
  • Whittington
  • Fontanelle
  • Ashton Park
  • Golden Pond

The notice will be lifted once water samples clear the State lab.
