First Alert Weather Day for Dangerous Heat

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -We’ve declared a First Alert Weather Day for today and tomorrow due to dangerously high temperatures. Temperatures will climb into the upper 90s to low 100s, but with the added humidity, it will feel more like 105 to 120 degrees.

A Heat Advisory is in effect statewide, with much of the area under an Excessive Heat Warning. Temperatures are expected to reach the low 100s through Wednesday, potentially marking the hottest days of the year so far.

Be sure to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, and take frequent breaks in the shade or indoors to avoid heat exhaustion…
