JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A new grocery store has opened in North Jackson.
Dash Food Mart, located on Nakoma Drive, provides residents with fresh produce without having to travel outside of their community.
“We never expected this feedback from from the community and from the city. I mean, we were just planning to do something with the space, and we thought about what we were going to do,” said Milo Abumirshid, the owner. “And we were listening to the customers here in the hair store, and they were complaining about a lack of groceries in the area. They need to travel to get their groceries, right? So, we thought, we have an empty space instead of doing a convenience store, why not do grocery and make it make it a one stop shop?”…
