According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, an Elevated Heat Stress advisory is in effect for western Mississippi, with highs in the mid-90s and “feels-like” temperatures peaking between 105°F and 110°F through late afternoon. The risk is highest in areas like Yazoo City, Greenwood, and Natchez, where prolonged outdoor activity could quickly lead to heat-related illness. In eastern areas, including Meridian and Philadelphia, heat levels remain “Limited” but caution is still urged.
