JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Providing plenty of cold water and access to air conditioning is how officials at the Jackson Zoological Park are helping animals there cope with the excessive heat.
Temperatures on Monday were expected to rise into the 90s, with a heat index of up to 120 degrees.
Dave Wetzel, assistant director of Parks and Recreation at the zoo, says the park is providing colder water to animals, and is leaving their indoor enclosures open so they can access the air conditioning if they choose to do so…
