Madison Central grad, Logan Cantrell, captures 1st Place at Bluegrass State Games, closes high school career in dominant fashion

Local standout Logan Cantrell, a 2025 Madison Central High School graduate, ended his high school wrestling career on a high note Saturday, July 26, by taking 1st place in his division at the Bluegrass State Games in Lexington, KY.

Cantrell, a member of the Madison Central wrestling team and team captain his senior year, secured the gold medal with a string of decisive victories:

  • 1st Round: Defeated Trea White (Henry Clay) by decision, 9-4
  • 2nd Round: Defeated Austin Brinegar (Harrison County) by pinfall in 2:50 — a major win over a strong opponent with a notable track record
  • 3rd Round: Defeated Connor Greenwell (Franklin County) by pinfall in 1:15

The tournament marked Cantrell’s final match as a Madison Central wrestler. He now sets his sights on collegiate competition as he joins Midway University this fall to continue his wrestling career.
