Bond denied for man accused of killing wife at Jackson apartment complex

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The man accused of killing his wife at a Jackson apartment complex, which led to a standoff, was denied bond.

Ron Christopher Allen, 52, made his initial appearance in court on Friday, August 1, one day after the fatal shooting.

Vehicle recovery worker shot multiple times in South Jackson

Officers responded to Westwood Apartments in the 3100 block of Robinson Street on July 31.

According to Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade, Allen shot his wife multiple times at the location before he barricaded himself inside the leasing office. The police chief said the victim, who was identified 24-year-old Maleah Bess, worked at the apartment complex.

Wade said Allen eventually surrendered to authorities after the standoff. Police said the weapon was recovered and the scene was processed by the Mobile Crime Unit…
