JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Residents in Jackson’s Woodhaven neighborhood said overgrown creeks and ditches are a major concern.
According to neighbors, the City of Jackson has not responded to repeated requests for cleanup. They’re worried about safety, especially near a bridge at the intersection of Westwind and Woodlake.

“We have been begging for years to get some assistance with our ditches to get them clean. And when it is an ongoing matter, the need to take care and also trash builds up in our ditches. And homeowners are very much concerned about trash build up. And wow, it’s really devaluing our properties,” said Phyllis Parker, a resident and volunteer.
Neighbors said they’ve taken it upon themselves to keep the area clean, but they’re calling on city leaders to step in and make lasting improvements…
