COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Copiah County deputies said a man turned himself in for allegedly assaulting a firefighter who responded to a fatal crash.
Copiah County Sheriff Byron Swilley said Kenmantel Davis, 48, was charged with simple assault of a fireman.
Firefighters assaulted at fatal Copiah County crash scene
The fatal crash occurred on Lilly Road around 12:40 a.m. on August 3. According to the sheriff, three vehicles were involved in the crash. Swilley said two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.
One driver, Ken’Zavion Brown, 18, was pronounced deceased at the scene, and another was transported to the Copiah County Medical Center and then airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson…
