After authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered the grenade was live. Burnell said the grenade had been kept and stored by a now-deceased veteran.

EOD experts were able to secure the grenade to be detonated at a later time.

During this incident, Burnell said no evacuations were necessary due to the distance between residences in the area.
