Episcopal Diocese marks 70th anniversary of Emmett Till’s death

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – To commemorate the 70th anniversary of Emmett Till’s murder, St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Jackson hosted an event to provoke thought and figure out different ways to bring the word of God into other people’s hearts.

Bishops Michael Curry and Dorothy Sanders Wells held a conversation on Sunday, which focused on the impact of Till’s death and the role of the Episcopal Church’s way of healing.

Wells spoke about how heavy and overwhelming it felt to visit the site of Till’s death.
