A massive $6 billion data center will be the “third-largest investment in our state’s history,” according to an announcement from Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves. The announcement about the data center to be located in Brandon came on Tuesday, signaling a major economic boost for Rankin County and the wider Metro Jackson area.
The project, spearheaded by AVAIO Digital, will be located in the East Metropolitan Center Business and Industrial Park. Governor Reeves emphasized the significance of the investment, stating, “This project will not only transform Rankin County and the Metro Jackson region, it will transform our economic landscape and lead to even more high-tech leaders choosing Mississippi.” He praised the “vote of confidence in our people, our communities, and our ability to get companies up and running more quickly.”
