2nd arrest made in deadly Jackson gas station shooting

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A second man was arrested in connection to a deadly shooting at a Jackson gas station.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said William Gavyn Strong was charged with murder, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine.

Strong appeared in court on August 20, 2025, and received a $1,040,000 bond.

The shooting occurred at the Shell gas station on Robinson Street on Friday, August 1. Police said the victim, Shawn Crenshaw, had been shot multiple times at the location and died from his injuries.
