Jackson councilman urges enhanced security after club shootings

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson City Councilman said he’s pushing for stronger security measures after two shootings in his ward in less than one week.

Three people were shot at Club Metro on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on August 16, 2025. Police said Dameio Milton died from his injuries.

2nd arrest made in deadly Jackson gas station shooting

According to Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade, the club owner left the scene and did not speak with investigators who responded.
