JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A Jackson city councilman says water shouldn’t be shut off at apartment complexes that don’t pay their bills and instead urges JXN Water to go after delinquent landlords through the court system.
“It appears up to 15 apartment complex landlords [many from out of state] have been delinquent in paying their water bills even as they collect rent and water fees from their renters,” Ward One Councilman Ashby Foote wrote in a social media post.
“I am confident that Judge Wingate and the power of the Department of Justice will get to a solution that protects the apartment dwellers in Jackson.”…
