Sheriff’s Office in Hinds County Certified in Modernized FBI Crime Reporting

JACKSON — The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office has received official certification as a National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) agency, effective Aug. 29, 2025.

The certification marks a significant step in the department’s commitment to data-driven policing, transparency and accountability.

NIBRS, administered by the FBI, replaces the legacy Summary Reporting System and provides a more detailed view of crime in communities.
