Jackson police host wellness fair to promote healthy living

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A local push to get healthy put the community at the center, and the event was hosted by the Jackson Police Department (JPD).

The Community Health and Wellness Fair includes free health screenings and plant-based cooking demos. Organizers said their goal is to spread JPD’s “Fit For Duty” mindset beyond the badge and into the neighborhoods they serve.

“Everything that you need to be healthy and live a healthy life is within this community is probably within a two-mile radius of you, whether it’s the grocery store, whether it’s these different organizations or clubs that are represented here.
