Jackson looking for new funds for tiny house village, mayor says

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Plans for a multimillion-dollar tiny home village designed to help Jackson’s homeless population is on hold.

That’s according to Jackson Mayor John Horhn, who briefed the City Council on the “Safe Place, Safe Space” project back in August.

“The scope under which the project was originally approved by the city council has changed pretty significantly… And what we were told in conversations with the state HUD office and some of their regional people is that it probably would be better for us to rebid the whole thing rather than risk a future finding,” he said…
