Woman Held Without Bond After Alleged Identity Theft Scheme in Rankin County

Tiffany Rochelle Burnside was ordered held without bond Tuesday, October 7, by Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow Jr. on charges tied to a September traffic stop and an alleged identity theft scheme, authorities said. Investigators also noted Burnside is on parole in Virginia and wanted in Indiana.

According to law enforcement, the case began on Sept. 24, when a Puckett Police Department officer stopped a vehicle. During the investigation, Burnside allegedly posed as another woman and was arrested on multiple charges.

Officials say the impersonation continued through booking, fingerprinting, and the bonding process at the Rankin County Detention Center. On Oct. 1, Rankin County Sheriff’s Department investigators were alerted to the alleged identity theft and opened a case. After coordinating with Burnside’s bonding company, investigators arranged a meeting spot in Brandon, where Burnside allegedly continued using the other woman’s identity even after being detained by law enforcement…
