JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating a homicide after a 33-year-old man was found deceased from a gunshot wound.
Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the incident occurred in the 3700 block of Liberty Street on October 13, 2025. He said the victim, LaTereance Barnes, was shot in the head at a home.
There is no suspect or motive at this time. Jones said this is an active investigation, and some people have been detained for questioning.
