SIMPSON COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – On Oct. 16, 2024, witnesses said a piece of heavy machinery came crashing down in the tiny town of D’Lo.
The hours that followed were a rescue-and-recovery mission for four injured crew members as well as three who died along the Strong River in Simpson County after a bridge being demolished collapsed.
“It was a terrible, tragic day for all involved,” said Anna Ehrgott, Mississippi Department of Transportation public information officer. “And we continue to extend our deepest sympathies to those who lost loved ones.”…
