Panel debates risks of data centers in Jackson area

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Multiple data centers and a new gas power plant are in the works in the Jackson-metro area.

On October 16, 2025, a panel was held at Tougaloo College to discuss the harmful impacts the centers could have on the communities.

Keshaun Pearson, the leader of Memphis Community Against Pollution, said he’s seen first hand what data centers and gas plants can do to a community.
