JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The City of Ridgeland is hosting its inaugural Pecan Festival! The event is Saturday, October 18th at Freedom Ridge Park. The festival features arts and crafts booths, live music, food, a pecan dessert showcase, a kids area, and live artists’ demonstrations. This is a family friendly event.
Pecans are a part of the City of Ridgeland’s history. The city declared the pecan as the city’s tree during the 125th Anniversary events in 2024. There is a dedicated pecan marker in Freedom Ridge Park under the pecan trees. All of the traffic signal boxes are wrapped with custom pecan artwork.
