Unattended children found in flooded Ridgeland apartment, mother arrested

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – Ridgeland police announced a mother was arrested after she allegedly left her children unattended for several hours.

Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers said officers responded to Sunchase Apartments on William Boulevard after receiving a call about a flooded apartment. Maintenance opened the apartment after no one answered the door.

Once inside, officers said they found a two-year-old boy unclothed, wandering the apartment. They said a two-year-old girl was found asleep in a crib.

According to Myers, the bathtub was left running which had flooded the apartment and had also begun to seep through the ceiling of the apartment below…
