JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Veterans in Jackson received an early Thanksgiving surprise on Saturday. The VA Medical Center hosted a special drive-thru food pantry as part of a larger Veterans Day celebration.
While the VA hosts a food pantry once a month, this weekend’s event was the biggest of the year. Turkeys and traditional sides were served to roughly 500 veterans far above the typical 300 attendees.
