Joint drug investigation leads to arrest of Rankin County man

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A joint investigation in the Jackson-metro area led to the arrest of a man on drug charges, according to investigators.

On November 10, 2025, Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said Rankin County deputies, Madison police and agents with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) seized 13 pounds of marijuana and seven pounds of suspect methamphetamine from Robert Tyreke Landers, 34, in Rankin County.

Driver arrested after chase from Jackson to Byram

According to Bailey, Landers was conspiring to possess controlled substances at his home in Rankin County. A search warrant was obtained, and investigators seized 13 one-pound bags of suspected high-grade marijuana and seven pounds of a gray paste like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

The sheriff said the drugs were submitted to the State Crime Lab for testing.

Landers was arrested at his home on Mt. Helm Road. He was transported to the Rankin County Jail and booked on two counts of conspiracy to traffick a controlled substance. Landers’ bond has not been set at this time.
