Jackson, MS – A rare G3–G4 geomagnetic storm could make the northern lights visible as far south as Mississippi tonight, thanks to unusually strong solar activity and clear skies across much of the state.
According to the US National Weather Service Jackson, dry and partly cloudy conditions will prevail through the night, with lows in the mid-40s to mid-50s, offering potentially good visibility for the aurora in darker, rural areas.
