Mississippi Children’s Museum unveils book vending machine

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The ribbon was cut on a new vending machine at the Mississippi Children’s Museum (MCM), serving up items only edible to the mind.

The Inchy’s Bookworm Vending Machine is a new permeant fixture in the Jackson museum. This machine allows for kids to trade in Inchy’s tokens from the museum for a book that they can call their own and read as they please.

“This vending machine is unlike a traditional vending machine that offers snacks or toys,” said Susan Garrard, president and CEO of the MCM. “The Inches Bookworm vending machine provides something far more meaningful. Books.”

The books provided in this machine are meant to appeal to kids of all ages, ranging from picture-heavy books to full novels. The machine also features books written in Spanish to broaden the range of opportunities for kids to read…
