Byram’s first Turkey Trot aids Alzheimer’s research efforts

BYRAM, Miss. (WJTV) – The Byram Mayoral Health Council kicked off a new tradition on Saturday. They hosted the first “Turkey Trot on the Run for Alzheimer’s.”

Runners and walkers gathered early Saturday morning for the event. The 5K was created to bring attention to alzheimer’s and support families impacted by the disease.

“Alzheimer’s is been around for a while, but not people. Not a whole lot of people are not aware of it, even know some of the signs. So, we just felt that research at the MIND Center is something good to donate to,” said Erma Johnson, coordinator for the Byram Mayoral Health Council…
