Appeals Court upholds convictions of man tied to 2023 shooting near St. Paddy’s Parade

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A man sentenced for killing two people near the Mal’s St. Paddy’s Parade back in 2023 won’t have his sentences overturned.

On Tuesday, the Mississippi Court of Appeals denied Jordan Cummins’ petition, saying he’s not entitled to an acquittal or new trial.

“The state presented sufficient evidence to support two convictions of first-degree murder, and the jury’s verdict was not contrary to the overwhelming weight of the evidence,” the court wrote…
