Retired Air Force veteran Norma Michael pulls a wheelbarrow through her neighborhood in Jackson. A bucket of peanuts rumble and bags of peppers rustle with every step.
Michael had already made a few calls to gauge the interest of neighbors on her street. Every Saturday. Michael works in her garden for several hours and then she delivers her harvest to at least 15 households on her street. Her first recipient is delighted to see this week’s yield.
