JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The closure of Jackson Public Schools has left many who live nearby wondering how it will affect their neighborhood. JPS’s repurposing initiative is keeping massive buildings from sitting idle and falling into decay.
One local church now owns Chastain Middle School to the delight of area homeowners. In about two years, the auditorium at the former Chastain Middle School could be filled with children and faculty thanks to the efforts of Redeemer Church and School to revitalize the north Jackson community.
