City of Pearl names Public Safety Complex after Chief William E. Slade

The City of Pearl Board of Alderman and Pearl Mayor Jake Windham recently named the Pearl Municipal Public Safety Complex in honor of the late Pearl Police Chief William E. Slade. Officials say the recognition celebrates Slade’s commitment to law enforcement in the Pearl community.

Slade’s forty-year career in law enforcement began in 1973, when he joined the City of Pearl as a police officer. Rising through the ranks, he was appointed Chief of Police in 1990, a role he held with distinction until his retirement on June 30, 2008.
