New HOPE Economic Empowerment Center opens in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson has a new financial institution opening up that hopes to give more financial backing to the greater Jackson area.

City officials and leaders with the Hope Credit Union (HOPE) gathered for a ribbon cutting on December 2, 2025. The opening of this building marks an expansion of influence by HOPE in the capital area, within which they have helped many local businesses and attractions grow.

“It’s no secret that the future of Jackson rest in how well we do with small business development. Well, it is going to be the lifeblood of turning the city around,” said Jackson Mayor John Horhn. “And yet we have to have the right tools in place, the right resources and place the right personnel in place to help make that, small business person’s journey be more successful. And I can’t think of a better partner than that.”

Officials with HOPE said this center will act not only as a credit union but also will be home to their Hope Economic Empowerment Center, which will work to provide entrepreneurial training, financial counseling, homebuyer education, and a meeting space for nonprofit organizations and community groups…
