After death ruled homicide, police execute search warrant at Piney Woods

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – After the death of a boarding school’s chief operating officer was ruled a homicide, police have executed search warrants on the school’s campus.

On July 16, police in Byram, Mississippi, launched a death investigation at an Extended Stay hotel after a man was found dead in one of the rooms.

The cause of death for William Boland, who held the position of COO at Piney Woods, was ruled as a death pending, but was later ruled a homicide via blunt force trauma by the State Medical Examiner…
